Exploring London in eight days

Class 9a took a weeklong trip to London from May 1st-May 8th.  We all met at the Erfurt airport and flew to London!  We stayed at The Lords Hotel, which is near Hyde Park.

During the week we saw a ton of different sites such as, St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Natural History Museum, the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, the London Eye, Hyde Park, Madame Tussauds, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Camden Town, Covent Garden, and Buckingham Palace!  A couple students, including myself, went to see Mamma Mia the Musical!  It was wonderful!  A few other students even went to the London Dungeon, the British Museum and the National Gallery!!  Not only did we see a load of famous sights, but we also did a lot of shopping!  We went to Westfield, Harrods, Hamleys, Camden Town, Covent Garden, and even shopped around the stores near Trafalgar Square!  We enjoyed going into M&M World and being entertained by street performers!

To get around London, we took the underground! It was really cool and, at times, quite crowded!  We also walked a lot!!  We then got to see London from a different point of view, when we took a trip on the London Eye!  We first watched a short 4D film about the London Eye before taking a ride.  When we got to the top it was beautiful!  We could see everything!

One thing I couldn’t miss out on was trying London’s fish and chips!  I’m glad I got to try new food!  I really liked it!  Not only did I get to try a traditional British food, but I also got to see the Royal Family -in wax of course- at the one and only Madame Tussauds!  It was exciting to see all the famous and historical figures!  We also went to say hello to the Queen as we visited Buckingham Palace!  It was so beautiful!  We had fun taking pictures and seeing the Royal Family’s home!  At the end of the week it was time to go home.  We packed, and weighed, our suitcases before we left for the airport.  This was the best class trip I’ve ever been on and I hope to revisit London and all its amazing sites soon!
